Need for Speed: No Limits
Game/Content Designer (I was in this role between: Nov 2018 - Nov 2019)
Game Overview: Need for Speed: No Limits (NFSNL) is a arcade racing game that can be downloaded from the Google play store or the Apple app store.
Each player plays NFSNL to achieve a different end goal from collecting all vehicles, being the fastest driver in PvP or 100% completing the campaign. To achieve these goals each player goes through the core loop.
Core Loop: The games core loop consists of racing, gaining a variety of resources and upgrading vehicles through special events/game modes.
Design Role Highlights:
I worked closely with the design team in developing a new reoccuring event within the constraints of current event frameworks. The event was called “Breakout” and would see players running from the police presence with some tasks requiring players to take-down said police.
My role/responsibilities:
Event creation, using Excel and in-house tools to;
Event balance: economy, race difficulty and player progression
Dialogue writing: strings, story beats, pacing and ensuring coherent with race modes/tracks
Added new cars, using Excel and in-house tools to;
tune/balance cars to align with real-world statistics
worked closely with product manager to create meaningful upgrade progression for vehicles
worked closely with 3D artists
Other tasks;
Onboarded/trained a new designer to the design workflow, tools and processes.
Updating track obstacles, to bring life back to another reoccurring event
Bug fixing
Data entry: strings, recurring events, pvp, updating spreadsheets
